2008 - Welsh Alps and Rhône

In August 2008, we went to Switzerland with our bikes. The goal was not only to complete the bicycle route, but also to take part in interesting mountain trips. First, a car trip with three bikes on the roof and one in the trunk. There are four of us: Agata (10), Ania (16), Krzysztof (22) and me, the siblings' father. The car journey is divided into two days, because first we visit relatives in Germany.

Practical information

In Visp we stayed overnight in the Catholic educational center "Bildungshaus St.Jodern". Very good conditions, friendly service. Accommodation in a room for 8 people, which we occupied ourselves, was CHF 41 with breakfast for an adult, CHF 32.80 for a child (up to 16 years old), which is cheap for Switzerland. I booked accommodation by sending an e-mail. They didn't ask for a deposit. You can pay even less when your stay is longer than 3 days.

Second night in Sierre in the hotel La Villa Bayard. Two rooms, they counted discounts for children and for a hotel the bill was bearable.

We spent our last night in a motel, which consisted of a complex of brick houses. After returning, I found their website: "Motel Inter-Alp"

In Switzerland, cyclists should take out civil liability insurance
